Some days I wish and long to be back traveling and

Some days I wish and long to be back traveling and other days I just want to crawl up and stay in bed all day. But really all I want to do is give my parents a hug and see my family. ⠀
⠀
Instead, I am filling my time with home workouts, slowly finding the motivation to do some work on my blog, and enjoying my morning coffee. ⠀
⠀
It's the little things that are helping me, the hope for the future, and the need to stay home to protect my grandparents, everyone else's grandparents, people's mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends, and loved ones. ⠀

Sometimes you have an idea in your head or a plan

Sometimes you have an idea in your head or a plan for the next month, week, or year but occasionally the plans we have don't work out. ⠀
⠀
The majority of us didn't see Covid-19 coming, and many of us have seen our plans for the next week, month, or year disrupted. But sometimes that happens, there are so many things in the world that happen out of our control. ⠀
⠀
I went to Peru for two weeks and on my last day in Peru, I went on a hike to Rainbow Mountain. I got picked up from my hotel at 3am and we embarked on our journey outside of Cusco to Rainbow Mountain. We stopped for breakfast and began the journey to the starting point of the hike. ⠀
⠀
On our way up the small narrow road climbing in altitude, it started raining, as we ventured higher the rain turned to sleet and then snow. We got stopped by cars coming down the mountain and were informed that we couldn't undertake the hike that day. ⠀
⠀
Instead of hiking Rainbow Mountain we went around and explored the surrounding area and countryside in Peru, seeing small towns and sites we would never have seen otherwise. Somethings suck, somethings don't work out as we had planned, and others open up better opportunities than we had ever imagined would happen.⠀

"What is broken can be mended. What hurts can be healed. And no matter how hard it gets, the sun will rise again". One day we will get to travel again, it might look and be different but we will get there and when we do I will appreciate moments like this even more than I did before. The feeling of exploring something for the first time, experiencing a new culture, and the sense of adventure. ⠀
